Founder
Tamara “Tammy” Guevara is the founder of Tamar Real Estate Services. After working in the non-profit sector for 25 years, and doing real estate part time, she ventured out on her own, in 2005, to create Tamar Real Estate Services. As a child Tammy emigrated to Stamford from Ecuador, South America with her parents and 10 siblings. As a Spanish speaking immigrant Tammy began working with other immigrant families looking to buy their first home, which required her to not only act as their realtor, but also as their guide throughout the entire process; from explaining the mortgage process, gathering documents for the lender, transporting families to the showings, to even translating for the attorneys at the closing table! Tammy realized early in her career that there were no other realtors willing or able, to put in the time and energy required to assist these families acheive their American Dream of homeownership. Through her sheer determination and toughness, she was able to build her one-woman business into a company that consistently transacts millions of dollars year after year. By valuing ‘Relationships over Revenue’ she created a base of trust that is unparalleled in this industry. Tammy lives in Stamford with her husband “Tony” and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her 9 grandchildren.
